Counselling Session For DU PG Courses

New Delhi: Delhi University (DU) organized atwo-day long Interactive Open House Session on Post Graduation Courses on Tuesday i.e. June 16. The session was conducted for students, worried about getting admission in the post graduate programs offered at DU’s south campus.
 
The south campus of DU offers a total of 21 post graduation courses including master's degrees, M Phils and PhDs. Thesession included an introduction of various courses in the university, information based multi-media presentation followed by a chance for students to ask questions.
 
Presently, admission is being done for subjects like Hindi, Political Science, History, Sanskrit and Electronics. Students who want to pursue different subjects are required to appear in an entrance examination and would get admission on the basis of their performance.
 
Dinesh C Varshney, Deputy Dean of Students' Welfare, South Campus of DU, said that the counselling sessions would help students understand the subject better and would also give them guidance regarding the admissions procedure. He further mentioned that preferences were being given to the DU students who have done graduation in the same course in which they want to pursue post graduation. Such students were eligible for direct admission.
