Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar in Gujarat has issued the notification for admission into the PhD (Doctorate of Philosophy) programme offered in the following discipline, for the upcoming session 2010.
 
PhD (Doctorate of Philosophy) 
  • Engineering disciplines of Chemical, Electrical and Mechanical
  • Science disciplines of Chemistry and Physics
  • Humanities and Social Sciences disciplines of Economics / Finance, English, Sociology, Philosophy

How to Apply
Interested candidates can download the application form along with formats for Statement of Purpose (SoP) and Letters of Recommendations from the website:http://www.iitgn.ac.in/phd.htm. Thereafter, the duly filled application form along with a DD of Rs 300 (Rs 150 for SC / ST candidates) drawn in favour of “IIT Gandhinagar at IIT Bombay” and payable at State Bank of India, IIT Powai branch. Candidate applying for more than three disciplines are instructed to submit additional draft.They must also mention their name, email address, category & discipline(s) in which you are applying on the reverse side of the DD. Thereafter, the duly filled application form along with the essential enclosures must be sent in a big size envelope (27 cm x 20 cm) without folding the application materials. The envelope should be marked “PhD Application for Discipline” addressed to Dean (Academic Programme), Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, Vishwakarma Government Engineering College Campus, Chandkheda, Visa Gandhinagar Highway, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India – 382424. In addition, a filled-in/scanned electronic copy of your application form should be emailed to phd.application@iitgn.ac.in. Mention “PhD Application for Discipline” in the email subject line.
 
Note: Application forms for admission to PhD Programme can be obtained & submitted throughout the year. Such applications will be processed from time to time. Candidates can mention upto THREE disciplines (in order of preferences) in one application form. For further choices, if any, additional forms may be used. Those who are applying for multiple disciplines are required to submit as many sets of complete application materials.Along with the Application form, candidates are required to submit:
 
a) Statement of Purpose Form
b) Recommendations Letters (At least Two)
