More Seats in Engineering Colleges of Maharashtra

Maharashtra: Good news for the engineering aspirants in Maharashtra. All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) has given approval for over 4,000 new seats in 73 existing engineering colleges across Maharashtra. The state at present has a total of 226 engineering colleges, offering bachelors and master’s degrees in engineering.
 
Nagpur University affiliated many colleges have got the approval for new seats and branches. Around 16 colleges under the university have got sanction for increased intake, especially in branches like Electronics, Civil and Electrical. The total number of seats increased in these colleges is over 1,000.
 
As per the sources, AICTE has also sanctioned about 3,000 MBA and MCA seats in these existing engineering institutions across the state. Nagpur city has received the highest number of seats in the state with over a thousand seats followed by Pune, Aurangabad and Mumbai. Also, over a thousand new MBA seats have been added in most engineering colleges, thus encouraging management education in Nagpur division.
 
AICTE has also given a nod to Master of Computer Application (MCA) courses and M Tech courses in many colleges, including NYSS and Nuva engineering colleges in the city. KDK College of Engineering got additional seats for M Tech course.
