CCSHAU Makes Hindi Compulsory for Foreign Students

Haryana: Foreign students enrolled at Chaudhry Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU) in Hisar will now have to study Hindi as a compulsory subject, a University Official said on Sunday (i.e. on August 22, 2010)
 
S.S. Dahiya, Registrar and Member Secretary of the Academic council of the University, has said that the academic council of CCSHAU decided to make Hindi language a compulsory subject for foreign students to better their understanding of Indian people and the country's cultural heritage.
 
Furthermore, he also added that it would facilitate them to communicate with the local people. He also mentioned that, however, it would be optional for Indian students.
