Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University, New Delhi, has invited applications for the admission into PhD (Doctorate of Philosophy) programme, offered in its Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Basic Sciences & Centre for Theoretical Physics, for the upcoming session 2010.
 
 
Date of Exam
August 20, 2010 (Admission is done on the basis of candidates performance in the entrance test, followed by an interview, which is scheduled to be held on August 24, 2010)

How to Apply
Interested candidates can download the application form from the University's official website http://jmi.ac.in.Thereafter, the duly filled application form along with the list of essential documents and a must be submitted in the respective centers with a DD of Rs 1000 drawn in favor of Registrar, Jamia Millia Islamia payable at Delhi/New Delhi. For further details candidates can visit the university’s aforementioned website.
 
List of the Essential Documents
  • Attested copies of all mark sheets & degrees of graduation & post graduation examinations.
  • Proof of date of birth.
  • Character certificate in original issued from the institution last attended.
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) from employer (if employed).
  • If the candidate is unemployed an undertaking on Non-judicial stamp paper Rs 10 duly attested by Notary Public/Oath Commissioner.
  • A consent letter from the co-supervisor with full correspondence address (if any).
  • All foreign students are required to submit a certificate for HIV test duly attested by the Medical Officer, Ansari Health Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.
  • Proof of residence (permanent & local).
