Jamia Millia Professor Gets Young Scientist Award

New Delhi: A Biotechnology Professor Mohammad Irfan Qureshi at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University has won the first prize in the category of young scientist award at the third International Conference on Parthenium-2010 (ICP-2010). As per sources, the conference was held from December 8, 2010 to December 10, 2010.
 
Further, sources informed that the conference was organized by Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) and Entomological Society of India in Delhi. Professor Irfan Qureshi presented a paper in the field of plant molecular biology, which was titled as 'Introducing the Weedomics: Understanding the Tolerance Mechanism of Weeds', sources added.
 
According to a statement, the organizing committee appreciated the newly introduced concept of Weedomics and expressed that with time this branch of science will grow into an independent area. Well-known scientists from the US, Australia and Brazil also attended the conference among others.
