Alagappa University, Karaikudi, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into the below given faculty-wise disciplines of PhD (Doctorate of Philosophy) (for both Part Time & Full Time) programme, offered in the ensuing session commencing from August 2011. The admission will be made on the basis of candidate’s performance in the Pre-Registration qualifying entrance examination followed by Interview, conducted by the University.
Disciplines offered:
- Faculty of Science – Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Marine Biology, Biotechnology, Nano Science and Technology, Bioinformatics, Bioelectronics and Biosensors, Animal Health and Management, Zoology, Botany, Library and Information Science, Home Science, Geology.
- Faculty of Arts – Tamil, English, Women’s Studies, Rural Development, History, Economics.
- Faculty of Education – Education, Physical Education & Health Science
- Faculty of Management – Commerce, Corporate Secretaryship, Bank Management, Management Studies, International Business
Date of Exam
August 7, 2011
- Objective type written test- 10.00 am to 12.00 noon
- Interview in the concerned department- 1.00 pm onwards
Note: UGC/CSIR/JRF/SRF/NET/SET qualified candidates will alone be exempted from clearing the Entrance Examination.

How to apply
Interested candidates may obtain the application in person or through post by paying the cost of application form i.e. Rs 500 in the form of DD drawn on any scheduled bank in the favour of The Registrar, Alagappa University, Karaikudi, payable at Karaikudi. One can also download the application form from the University's official website: http://www.alagappauniversity.ac.in/.
The duly filled in application along with the DD (in the case of downloaded form, a DD of Rs 500 drawn in the prescribed format is to be attached) should be submitted latest by July 22, 2011.
