CBSE CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) 2011

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi, has issued a notification inviting applications for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test 2011, also known as CTET 2011. CTET is conducted to enroll eligible candidates as teachers in the schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Tibetan Schools etc.), unaided private schools and schools owned as well as maintained by the state Government/local bodies [as State Government can also consider the CTET if it decides not to conduct the State Teacher Eligibility Test (TET)]. The CTET will be conducted in two separate papers - Paper I and Paper II.

How to apply
Interested candidates can apply either online or on the prescribed application form (offline). To apply online candidate has to log on to the board’s official website: http://www.cbse.nic.in/. Fill in the appropriate details and information after carefully reading the instructions mentioned. One must take the print out of the computer generated confirmation page after the successful submission of the data. The application fee is Rs 500 for General/OBC category and Rs 250 for SC/ST/Differently able category which can be either paid by Debit/Credit card or by DD drawn from any nationalized bank in favour of “The Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi” payable at Delhi. Candidate must write his/her name, address and registration number on the back of the DD.
 
To apply offline, one can obtain the information bulletin and application form in person from the designated branches of Syndicate bank, Institutions specified on board’s website against a cash payment (not by post). The same can also be obtained through post by sending DD of required fee (mentioned above) from the Central Board of Secondary Education, Shiksha Sadan, 17 Rouse Avenue, New Delhi-110 002. The duly filled application form along with DD (in case of online application) and other necessary enclosures must be sent in an envelope (size 12”x10”) super scribing “Application for CTET- 2011”. The envelope should be sent by Registered Post or Speed Post to “The Assistant Secretary (CTET), Central Board of Secondary Education, Shiksha Sadan, 17, Rouse Avenue, New Delhi-110002” latest by May 15, 2011. For further details about application procedures candidates are advised to visit Board’s above mentioned official website.
 
Note: CTET admit card will be sent by post to the candidate by June 17, 2011.
 
Date of issue of application form
Online application will be available from: April 8, 2011
Sale of the information bulletin and application form will be available from- April 20, 2011 to May 10, 2011.
 
Last date of submitting application form
Last date of submission of application form for both online and offline application is May 15, 2011.
 
Note : 7 days grace time i.e. Up to 22.05.2011 for receipt of application form will be allowed to the candidates belonging to remote Areas viz. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Lahaul and Spiti district and Pangi Sub division of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, andaman & Nicobar Island and Lakshadweep.
