Goa University MBBS Exam Cancelled due to Question Paper Leak

Panaji: On January 3, 2011, Goa University has cancelled MBBS exam after it was discovered that final year MBBS question paper was leaked. The exam was scheduled to be held at Goa Medical College (GMC). As per sources, a local journalist uncovered that General Medicine - I and General Medicine - II question paper was leaked to students. The university immediately announced the cancellation of exam.
 
Dr. V N Jindal, Dean, GMC said that the exam was cancelled and rescheduled on the next date. A high-level inquiry has been initiated, he added. In addition, he informed the sources that GU Vice Chancellor permitted to cancel the exams. Furthermore, he told that a new set of papers will be prepared for re-examination. They will not spare the culprit, he added. Moreover, Mr. Deelip Deobagkar, GU Vice Chancellor said that they have instituted a three-member committee to probe into the paper leakage.
 
Further, Mr. Deobagkar told the sources that they have asked for a report within 48 hours so that he can immediately take prima-facie action. The committee will announce a new date for re-examination on January 4, 2011. As per the college officials, a police complaint will be filed against the unknown persons. IBNS is in possession of the leaked questions papers. Each paper is of 60 marks, the official added.
