HBNI DGFS PhD Programme for Engineering Post Graduates (ME/MTech) Admission 2011 Notification

Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), Mumbai, Maharashtra, has invited applications from engineering postgraduates for admission into DAE (Department of Atomic Energy) Graduate Fellowship Scheme [DGFS] PhD programme for pursuing research in an Engineering discipline, offered in the upcoming session commencing from August 2011. The course is being offered in the following constituent institutions of HBNI.
 
Courses offered in the following centres:
  • Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai;
  • Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam;
  • Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre (VECC), Kolkata;
  • Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT), Indore;
  • Institute for Plasma Research (IPR), Gandhinagar.

Selection Process: Eligible candidate who fulfill the eligibility criteria, and whose M Tech project is of relevance to DAE, will be called to BARC, Mumbai in July 2011 for a written screening test followed by interview of selected number of candidates based on the merit in the screening test. The candidates will also have to give a 10 minutes presentation on their research interest.
 
Note: Outstation applicants called for interview will be paid, after their interview, to and fro sleeper class train fare by shortest route, or actual fare, whichever is less.

How to Apply
Interested candidates need to download the prescribed application form made available on the Institute’s official website: http://www.hbni.ac.in/. While filling up the application form, candidate must affix his/her passport size photo, sign across and attach attested copies of documents needed (given in the website). The duly filled in application form along with the enclosure documents and one additional photo should be mailed to the below given address latest by June 30, 2011.
