The Joint Admission Test for M Sc 2012, popularly known as JAM, date has been announced. JAM is an all Indian examination administered and conducted across the country jointly by the seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India. It is conducted in order to select eligible candidates for admission into the following programme offered at IITs for the session 2012:

How to apply
Interested candidates can apply through any of the following methods:
 
Online Application: One can apply online by visiting the IIT-Bombay’s official website: http://www.gate.iitb.ac.in/. After filling the online application form, candidates are required to take the print out of the same. Candidates have to submit the completed application form along with a DD for the appropriate fee drawn in favor of the Chairman, JAM, IIT Bombay on any Nationalized Bank payable at Bombay. The application fee for online registration is Rs 900 for General/OBC category male candidates, Rs 800 for General/OBC category female candidates and Rs 400 for SC/ST/PD candidates.
 
Offline Application: Candidates may obtain the offline application form from the designated branches of Canara Bank (list of designated bank is available at: http://www.gate.iitb.ac.in/2k12/jam/bank.html) or IITB JAM office on cash payment of application fee of Rs 1000 for General/OBC category male candidates, Rs 900 for General/OBC category female candidates and Rs 500 for SC/ST/PD candidates. In order to obtain the application form from the IITB JAM office, one need to submit a DD of the prescribed amount drawn in favour of Chairman, JAM, IIT Bombay on any nationalized Bank payable at Bombay.
 
The duly filled-in application form with appropriate enclosures (details given in the website) must be sent by Speed Post (preferably) or by Registered Post to 'The Organizing Chairman, JAM 2012, IIT Bombay, Powai, Mumbai 400 076' latest by November 1, 2011. The form can also be handed over personally to GATE-JAM Office, IIT Bombay before the due date. For more details regarding admission, eligibility criteria and application procedures candidates are requested to visit the Institute’s abovementioned official website.
