IIT Madras M Tech Programme 2012 Admission

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, Tamil Nadu, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into M Tech (Master of Technology) programme, to be offered in the ensuing session 2012 in the following departments:
 
Departments / disciplines offered:
  • Aerospace Engineering
  • Applied Mechanics
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Computer Science and Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mathematics (Industrial Mathematics and Scientific Computing)
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Metallurgical and Material Engineering
  • Ocean Engineering and Physics (Solid State Technology)
  • In addition, interdisciplinary programmes in Catalysis Technology, Nuclear Engineering and Petroleum Engineering and M Tech in Clinical Engineering are also offered.
Note: M Tech in Clinical Engineering is a joint programme offered by IIT Madras, Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum and Christian Medical College, Vellore. The duration of the same will be two-and-a-half years in which students will study and train at all the three participating institutes. The selection will be done on an All-India basis, through a screening test and /or a personal interview of eligible candidates. How to Apply
Interested candidates are required to fill in the online application form by visiting the website: http://www.iitm.ac.in/. The online applications will be made available from March 16, 2012 onwards. The application fee is Rs 100 for SC/ST/PD candidates and Rs 200 for others. The application fee is to be paid the form of DD drawn on any nationalized bank in favour of The Registrar, IIT Madras payable at Chennai). After successfully submitting the online application, one must take a printout of the same. The hardcopy / printout of the online application along with DD should be sent by post to the GATE office, latest by April 5, 2012. For any further details regarding admission, eligibility criteria and application procedures, candidates are requested to visit the Institute's aforementioned official website.
