JEST 2013

Online / offline applications are invited from eligible candidates for Joint Entrance Screening Test 2013, also known as JEST. JEST is an all India level examination being conducted for admission into PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) programme / integrated PhD programme in Physics (including various interdisciplinary research areas) / Theoretical Computer Sciences, to be offered at the following participating institutions.

How to Apply
Interested candidates may apply either online (preferred mode of application) or offline by following the below mentioned procedures.
  • Online: Candidates have to create an account by using a valid e-mail id on the official website of JEST: http://www.jest.org.in/. Afterwards, they can fill the online application form by following the instructions mentioned on the website. After submission of the online application form, a unique submission number will be issued. This number must be quoted by the applicant for further communication with the JEST authorities.
  • Offline: Those candidates, who are not able to fill up the online application form, can send a request for obtaining printed application form to: JEST-2013, Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, I/AF Bidhannagar, Kolkata, West Bengal-700 064 on or before November 30, 2012. The requisition should be accompanied by a self-addressed envelop affixed with postage stamp of Rs 40
Candidates have to pay an application fee of Rs 100 (Rs 50 for SC/ST candidates) either before or after submitting the application form. One can deposit the prescribed fee directly in the following account of any Branch of State Bank of India or Associated Banks of SBI, by using Pay-in-Slip (downloadable from the website).

After submitting the fee, candidates will get a Challan/Receipt/Counterfoil from the bank. One must write his/her name and unique submission number on the reverse side of the Challan/Receipt/Counterfoil and mail it to: jest.2013@saha.ac.in. In addition, one can also send it by post to: JEST 2013, Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Sector-1, Block-AF, Bidhannagar, Kolkata, West Bengal-700 064, latest by December 10, 2012.
