NIMHANS Bangalore PG (Medical and Non-Medical) / Diploma Programme Admission 2013

National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, well known as NIMHANS, Bangalore, Karnataka, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into Post Graduate (PG) Medical and Non-Medical / Diploma programmes, to be offered in the below mentioned streams in the ensuing session 2013. Admission in degree programmes will be made on the basis of merit obtained in the online entrance test, followed by personal interview and counseling, to be conducted by the Institute on the following date. However, admission in diploma programme will be made on the basis of candidates' academic qualification.

Date of Exam
Online entrance test is scheduled to be held on February 24, 2013.
Interview and counseling will be conducted on March 11 and 12, 2013.
 
Note: Mere qualifying in the entrance test and interview does not entitle admission to PhD course. Selection is subject to availability of eligible guides in the respective departments.

How to Apply
Interested candidates may apply online by filling up the application form made available on the official website of the Institute: http://www.nimhans.kar.nic.in/. In addition, one has to pay an application fee of Rs 1500 (Rs 1000 for SC / ST candidates) through Bank Challan (downloadable from website), at any branch of Stat Bank of Mysore or any nationalized bank. Candidates should obtain a journal number, if they remit the application fee at State Bank of Mysore. However, in case of remitting the fee at any other nationalized bank, one should obtain the RTGS/NEFT/UTR number. Furthermore, candidates have to enter the Journal Number or RTGS/NEFT/UTR number (whichever is applicable) in the box given on the payment section and complete the application procedure.
 
After filling up all the sections (as per the instruction given in the prospectus) in the application form, one has to submit the same on the website and take a print-out of the duly filled-in submitted application form. Thereafter, the print-out of the application abstract (affixed with latest passport size photograph) along with the NIMHANS copy of Bank Challan and all requisite enclosures (list given on the website) should be sent to The Registrar, NIMHANS, Hosur Road, Bangalore, Karnataka-560 029, on or before December 19, 2012. The envelope containing the application form must be super scribed with the “Name of Course Applied For _______. For further information regarding application, eligibility criteria and admission procedure, one can visit the abovementioned website of NIMHANS.
 
Note:
  • One can apply for a maximum of three courses.
  • Foreign Nationals are required to submit their applications through the Diplomatic Channel (through the Ministry of External Affairs). They shall also appear for the Common Entrance Test.
  • Sponsored candidates should submit their application through proper channel and should also appear for the Common Entrance Test. The candidates should produce the sponsorship certificate in the prescribed format.
