NIT Hamirpur to Host Fifth Convocation

Hamirpur: National Institute of Technology (NIT), Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, will host its fifth convocation ceremony on May 20, 2012 from 10.30 am onwards. The ceremony will be held at the institute auditorium. All eligible B Tech / B Arch, M Tech, MBA and PhD students, who have completed their courses, will be awarded degrees during the convocation.
 
As per the notification issued by the Institute, Professor S S Mantha, Chairman, All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi has very kindly consented to be the chief guest and deliver the convocation address. All those students, who want to receive their degrees in person during the convocation, are required to send their consent in writing to the Dean (Academics), NIT Hamirpur or through email at the Email ID: sushil@nith.ac.in
 
In addition, one can also register himself/herself online by filling in the registration form made available on the Institute’s official website: http://www.nith.ac.in/. The direct link for the same is: http://14.139.56.15/convocation/convreglist.asp. The last date of registering or submitting consent is May 15, 2012. However, a compulsory full dress rehearsal will be held on May 19, 2012 at 3.00 pm in the institute auditorium. Candidates must attend the rehearsals as only those students who attend this rehearsal will be allowed to attend the Convocation.
 
Established in the year 1986, NIT Hamirpur came up as Regional Engineering College by the joint and cooperative efforts of the Government of India and Government of Himachal Pradesh. However, now it has acquired the status of a Deemed University. The institute offers engineering programmes at undergraduate, post graduate and doctorate levels.
