PTU Introduces New Course in Engineering from Session 2012

Kapurthala: Punjab Technical University (PTU), Punjab, has introduced a new course in Engineering, from the ensuing academic session 2012-13. The newly launched course is “M Tech (Master of Technology) in Computer Science & Engineering”. However, the course will be offered through part-time mode.
 
As per the notification issued by the University, the new course will be offered only at the Regional Centre established at Lala Lajpat Rai Institute of Engineering & Technology, Moga. In addition, the University has sanctioned an intake of only 25 candidates for the course.
 
Punjab Technical University (PTU) is a public university established by the Government of Punjab to promote technical education in the state. PTU has been awarded with the authorization to confer Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates under Section 3 of the University Act.
 
The University has established / recognized Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Architecture, Medical Lab Technologies, Hotel Management & Catering Technology, and Information Technology colleges under its jurisdiction. Presently, it has 12 Regional Centers for M Tech courses and a school of Total Quality Management (TQM) at Mohali. Moreover, the University has set up over 350 learning centres under distance education offering various courses, across the country.
