UPSC Engineering Services Exam 2011 Final Result Out

New Delhi: On March 19, 2012, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), declared the final result of Engineering Services examination 2011. The result is made available on the Commission’s official website: http://www.upsc.gov.in/. All those candidates who had appeared for the same, can check their respective results by logging into the aforementioned website.
 
As per the notification issued by UPSC, the candidates have been selected on the basis of the results of the Engineering Services written Examination held by UPSC in May 2011 and the interviews for Personality Test held in January – February 2012. The candidates listed in the final list, have been recommended for appointment to the following posts / groups:
  • 248 candidates in Civil Engineering Group;
  • 170 candidates in Mechanical Engineering Group;
  • 112 candidates in Electrical Engineering Group; and
  • 163 candidates in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Group.
A total number of 693 candidates recommended for appointments in the four lists include 317 General, 209 Other Backward Classes, 113 Scheduled Castes and 54 Scheduled Tribes (including 44 candidates belonging to Physically Handicapped category).
 
Appointments will be made according to the number of vacancies available and keeping in view the amended Rules and with due consideration to the provisions contained in rule 5(b) and 16 of the rules for the examination relating to restrictions on the eligibility of candidates admitted to the examination under age concession and allotment of candidates to various services according to ranks obtained and preference of services expressed by them.
 
In addition, to help the candidates, the commission has made a ‘Facilitation Counter’ near Examination Hall Building in its Campus. Candidates may obtain any information / clarification regarding their Examination / recruitments on working days between 10:00 am and 05:00 pm in person or over Telephone Nos. 011-23385271 and 011-23381125 from the facilitation counter.
