Calcutta University has invited applications for admissions into the PhD in Pure Mathematics programme, for the academic year 2013 – 2014. The maximum number of seats available for the PhD Programme admission is 06 (Reservation regarding SC/ST will be followed as per rules)
Candidates will be selected for admissions on the basis of their performance in the Written Entrance test followed by an Interview. The candidates who have cleared UGC/CSIR(JRF)/NET/SET/SLET/GATE/Teacher Fellowship or have passed equivalent examinations or passed the M.Phil examination are not be required to appear at the PhD entrance test; however, they are to appear for the interview.
The Syllabus for the written entrance test will include topics covered in B.Sc (Hons) and M.Sc. courses in Pure Mathematics (excluding topics covered in special papers).

July 2, 2013 (12 noon to 2.00 pm)
Date of Interview for qualified candidates – July 8, 2013 at 1.00 pm
