Calicut University PhD Programme in Engineering 2013 Admission

University of Calicut, also known as Calicut University, Kerala, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into (Full-time/Part-time) Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) programme in Engineering, to be offered in the below mentioned streams in the ensuing session 2013. Selection will be made on the basis of candidates’ performance in the Eligibility Test, followed by interview, to be conducted by the University on the following date.
 
PhD Programme Streams:
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Electrical & Electronics Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
Note:
  • Regular Teachers of Government and Aided Engineering Colleges, with more than 7 years of experience and those who are applying under QIP scheme, are exempted from appearing in Eligibility Test. But they should submit the application form with the prescribed application fee.
  • Eligibility Test will be of 100 marks and will comprise of objective as well as descriptive type questions.
Date of Exam
Eligibility Test is scheduled to be held on February 23, 2013 (from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm)

How to Apply
Interested candidates may download the application form, from the official website of the University: http://www.universityofcalicut.info/. The direct link for the same is: http://www.universityofcalicut.info/PhD/PhDEnggformJan22.pdf/. In addition, applicants have to pay an application fee of Rs 50 (Rs 20 for SC/ST candidates) and Eligibility Test fee of Rs 500 (Rs 200 for SC/ST candidates) towards the University fund. The application fee can be paid in Janasevana Kendra/selected branches of the State Bank of Travancore (SBT)/Treasuries or directly at the cash counter in Tagore Niketan and University Information Centres.
 
The hard copy of the duly-filled in downloaded application form along with original Challan receipt of the fee should be sent to Principal, Government Engineering College, Thrissur, Kerala- 680 009,  on or before February 8, 2013. The envelope containing the application form should be superscribed as “Application for PhD Programme (Engineering)”. For further information regarding admission eligibility criteria and application procedure, one can visit the abovementioned website of the University.
 
Note:
  • Candidates, who are exempted from appearing in Eligibility Test, should pay only application form fee (as mentioned above).
  • Application received after the stipulated date of application form submission will not be entertained.
  • Both the application and Eligibility Test fees are non-refundable.
