National Institute of Plant Genomic Research has issued the notification for admission into PhD programme, to be offered in the ensuing session 2013-14.

NIPGR PhD Programme Admission 2013

National Institute of Plant Genomic Research, an Autonomous Research Institution, funded by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme, to be offered in the belowmentioned areas, in the ensuing session 2013-14. Selection will be done on the basis of candidates’ academic qualifications, followed by personal interview, to be conducted by the institute.
 
PhD Areas:
  • Plant Biology, such as Computational Biology, Genome Analysis and Molecular Mapping, Molecular Mechanism of Abiotic Stress Responses, Nutritional Genomics, Plant Development and Architecture, Plant Immunity, Transgenic for Crop improvement, Molecular Breeding and other emerging areas based on plant genomics.
Note: Candidates who have cleared CSIR - UGC NET / DBT - JRF (selected through BET/BINC) / ICMR NET exam for JRF (with a valid Junior Research Fellowship as on September 1, 2013), are only eligible to apply.

How to Apply
Interested candidates may apply on A4 size plain paper in the prescribed format made available on the official website of the institute: http://www.nipgr.res.in/. Moreover, one can also download the format from the following direct link: http://www.nipgr.res.in/careers/phd_admission.php. An application fee of Rs 300 (Rs 100 for SC / ST candidates) is to be paid by the candidates in the form of Demand Draft (DD) drawn on any nationalized bank in favor of Director, National Institute of Plant Genome Research, payable at New Delhi.
 
The duly filled-in application form, complete in all respects as per the prescribed guidelines, along with the DD of requisite amount (as mentioned above) and attested copies of all requisite documents, should be sent to The Director, National Institute of Plant Genome Research, Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, Post Box No. 10531, New Delhi -110 067, so as to reach on or before May 24, 2013.
