UPSC to Conduct Special Class Railway Apprentices (SCRA) Exam in January 2014

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the Special Class Railway Apprentices (SCRA) examination for selection of candidates for appointment as Special Class Apprentices in Mechanical Department of Indian Railways in January 2014.

Candidates who want to apply must visit the official website http://upsconline.nic.in/ and click on the link ONLINE APPLICATION FOR VARIOUS EXAMINATIONS OF UPSC and should fill the online application form. The last date for filling the application forms is November 4th, 2013.

Important Dates

• Date of notification is 5th October, 2013
• Online registration opens on 6th October, 2013
• Last date of submission of application form is 4th November, 2013
• Exams would be conducted on 12th January, 2014
• Results would be announced in March/April 2014

Eligibility

Candidates must be minimum 17 years of age and not more than 21 years as on 1st January, 2014. Candidates must have passed 10+2 class with first or second division in mathematics, physics or chemistry. The upper age limit can be relaxed upto 5 years in case of in case of scheduled tribes and scheduled caste and upto 3 years in case of other backward classes.

Examination Fees

Candidates are required to pay the fees of Rs 100/- either by depositing the money in the branch of SBI by cash, net banking, credit card or debit card. Female candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH are exempted from payment of fees. Fees are not exempted for other backward categories and they are required to pay the full prescribed fees.
