UPTU Issues Notification for Admissions 2013

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), one of the pioneering Universities of UP, has announced the date of Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Exam 2013, also known as UPSEE, recently. This common entrance test is conducted in order to select eligible candidates for admission into various engineering and management courses. The online exam for MBA, MCA, are scheduled to be held on April 20 and 27, while, the offline test for B Tech course will be conducted on April 21.
 
As per the official sources, like every year, candidates are open to apply for all courses, through both modes, online as well as offline. The online registration process will start from February 28 (from 10.00 am), whereas the sale of offline application form will begin from March 1, onwards. The last date of filling up the online application form is March 21; whereas, the last date of submitting hardcopy of application forms is March 25. It is also to be noted that for B Tech, candidates are required to submit application form both online as well as offline, however in case of MBA and MCA, aspirants will only have to submit the online form.
 
When contacted, US Tomer, Registrar, UPTU, mentioned that through the common exam, over 1.80 lakh students will be admitted to various courses including B Tech, B Pharma, Hotel Management, Fashion Designing etc. As far as the application fee and cost of the form is concerned, the application form is Rs 1000, for General / OBC candidates. However, for SC / ST and girl students of all categories, the fee is Rs 500 only. Clarifying the fee difference, Tomer added that the University has reduced the form fee by half for girls, in order to encourage them in the field of technical education.
 
This year, the University has taken a new step to encourage dependents of employees of armed forces. As per the new regulation, dependants of armed force personals, who have UP as their official domicile, but are working anywhere in the country, will be given 5% additional weightage, in the admission procedure. Earlier, this advantage was only offered to those who were either posted or belonged to UP.
