Varanasi: The results of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) PMT (Screening) Examination 2009 were announced on June 15, 2009. Around 30,930 candidates appeared for the exam, which was conducted on June 10, across various test centres in Varanasi, Delhi, Kolkata and Hyderabad. Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, conducted the BHU PMT entrance test for admission to 55 seats of its MBBS course and 25 seats of its B Pharm course. BHU medical entrance is held in two stages for the MBBS course and one stage for the B Pharm courses (through the Screening test). Approximately 2090 candidates were short-listed in general category, 341 in OBC category, 450 in SC category, and 68 in ST category. Besides, 10 candidates were short-listed in general physically challenged category and 9 were there in the OBC-PC category.
BHU spokespersons said that the short-listed candidates would appear in the BHU PMT-2009 (Main) examination, scheduled to be held at BHU, on June 30. He also mentioned that the candidates belonging to OBC, SC, ST and their respective PC categories and obtaining higher rank have been included in the general category list.
