Central Institute of Psychiatry (CIP) in Ranchi, Jharkhand has announced the date of Postgraduate (PG) entrance exam 2010. It is conducted for admission into the following postgraduate (PG) programme (under Ranchi University), offered in the upcoming academic session commencing from May 2010.
- M D (Psychiatry) - 5 seats (UR-02, OBC-02, SC-01)
- Diploma in Psychological Medicine - 9 seats (UR-04, OBC-03, SC-01, ST-01)
- PhD in Clinical Psychology - 4 seats (UR-4)
- M Phil in Medical & Social Psychology - 18 seats (UR-09, OBC-05, SC-03, ST-01)
- M Phil in Psychiatric Social Work - 12 seats (UR-06, OBC-03, SC-02, ST-01)
- Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing - 18 seats (UR-09, OBC-05, SC-03, ST-01)

February 21, 2010 (Written Test and Interview / Counseling shall be conducted between February 21-27, 2010)

How to Apply
Interested candidates are required to apply in the online application form and submit it in the website: www.cipranchi.nic.in. Thereafter, applicants are required to take out a print out of the same application form printed on A4 size bond paper. The application form complete in all respect must be submitted along with a DD of Rs 400 for General Class Candidates and Rs 300 for SC/ST/OBC candidates (non-refundable) in favor of Director, CIP, Ranchi payable at Bank of Baroda, Kanke, Ranchi must reach the Director, Central Institute of Psychiatry, Kanke, Ranchi-834006 (Jharkhand) on or before the last date mentioned.
The hard copy of the application form must be duly signed by the candidate and his/her photograph pasted in appropriate place. Incomplete applications not accompanied with DD, attested photocopies of all certificates, mark sheets, testimonials, Caste Certificate/Disability certificate if applicable or applications received after due date, shall not be considered. The admit card and a covering letter having necessary instructions will be made available on the CIP website (www.cipranchi.nic.in). The admit card and the covering letter are to be downloaded and printed by the candidates and the same to be brought with them to the examination centre. Note: Candidates applying for both M.D. and D.P.M. and for both Ph.D. (Clinical Psychology) and M Phil in Medical and Social Psychology courses starting from May 1, 2010 need to submit only one application each. They should clearly mention the names of the course applied for, in order of preference.
