Hyderabad: AP Council for Higher Education has announced the counselling schedule for Engineering Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) and Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET)for admission into various programmes for the upcoming session 2009.
The ICET counselling will begin on July 19 while that of EAMCET on July 26 or 27 and continue till mid of August. The process for both processes of counselling is generally the same and registration and selection of options will take place online. ICET certificate verification procedure will start on July 19. Students can get their certificates verified in any one of the 50 designated helpline centres across the state.
Students are required to register online (the website URL will be revealed soon) after which they will be provided with a unique password. With the help of the passwords students can access the websites from July 22 onwards and give their options and preferences. They will be given a week’s time for choosing the options. Moreover, students can change their options or give as many preferences as they want in this period.The options will be frozen after the said period and the allotments made known to them via email or phone in two to three days’ time. It will also be displayed on the website.
Christopher, Secretary of the AP Council for Higher Education, said that students will have to be realistic about their options based on the ranks they obtained. He further mentioned that there is only one round of counselling as of now, but another round of counselling may be conducted depending on the situation. As per the sources, the state is expecting an additional of 50 engineering and MBA colleges to come up in this year.
