How to Apply
Interested candidates can download the application form from the institute’s website: www.iitm.ac.in. Thereafter, the duly filled application form with the following list of essential enclosures superscribed as “Application Form for PhD/M.S Programme” and a DD of Rs 250 for General Class and Rs 150 for SC ST / PD candidates should be sent to The Deputy Registrar (Academic), Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai – 600 036 on or before the last date mentioned.
i) Copies of all Mark sheets / grade cards, degree certificates beginning from first degree towards proof of qualification. [Original certificates should not be enclosed].
ii) Copy of Community Certificate in the case of SC/ST/OBC candidates issued by the respective State Government.
iii) Authorized Doctor’s Certificate with disability descriptions in the case of Person with Disabled (PD) candidates.
iv) Copy of GATE score or NET (UGC-JRF/ Lectureship/ CSIR/ DAE-JEST) or other fellowship award.
v) Employer’s Certificate in the prescribed format (received along with Application Form) in the case of candidates applying under the following scheme:
a. External Scheme (a copy of the degree certificate of the proposed Co-guide also has to be enclosed).
b. Part-Time scheme sponsored by reputed University / Institution / organization.
vi) Project Co-ordinator’s certificate in the prescribed format and a copy of project appointment letter from Dean IC & SR of IITM in the case of Project Associate if already appointed.
