Eligible candidates can get entry under Regular, Sponsored (Full Time), Self-Financed, Part-Time or External categories. All the admissions are based on the performance in GATE / NET and merit in qualifying examinations.

How to Apply
Application forms can be obtained from the office of “Assistant Registrar, Indian Institute of Technology Patna, Patliputra Colony, Patna, Bihar”, on or before 08-04-2009 by ordinary post or in person. To obtain application form by ordinary post, send a request accompanying a self-addressed, Rs 5/- stamped envelope of 24cm x 15cm size. Request for form must be sent in an envelope mentioning request for PhD application form. Completely filled application form must have attached copies of mark sheets / certificates and other testimonials and a demand draft.
DD should be of Rs 150/- for General / OBC candidates and Rs 75/- for SC / ST / PD candidates drawn in any nationalized bank and payable at Patna in favor of IIT Patna. It must be sent to the “Assistant Registrar, Indian Institute of Technology Patna, Patliputra Colony, Patna, Bihar”.
