JNTU Hyderabad Postpones Exams Scheduled to be Held on November 20

Hyderabad: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, has postponed the exams which were scheduled to be held on November 20, 2010. As per the new schedule, the exams will now be conducted on November 21, 2010. However, timings for the exams will remain the same. Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, situated in Hyderabad, is the first technical university in India. Popularly known as JNTU, the university was named after the name of former Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru. JNTU was established with the purpose of imparting and improving the standards of higher technical education in India in general and in the state in particular. The university also has its campus in the districts of Kakinada and Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh. 
 
JNTU was established on October 2, 1972, by an Act of State Legislature. The university was originally named as Hyderabad Polytechnic Institute, before it was rechristened to JNTU. Government Engineering Colleges at Anantapur, Kakinada and Hyderabad and Government College of Fine Arts and Architecture (Hyderabad) became integral parts of JNTU.
