National Board of Higher Mathematics Scholarships for Pursuing PhD in Mathematics Programme 2011

National Board of Higher Mathematics (NBHM), Mumbai, Maharashtra, has invited applications for the grant of scholarships to students for pursuing research for a PhD degree in Mathematics for the academic year 2011. Selection of the candidates will be made on the basis of a written test, to be held on the date mentioned below followed by an interview. Successful candidates will be entitled to receive a scholarship of Rs 16000 per month, for the first and second year and Rs 18000 per month for subsequent years.

  • Zone 2: Allahabad, Indore and Jabalpur
  • Zone 3: Goa, Mumbai, Pune and Vallabh Vidyanagar

  • Zone 5: Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin and Hyderabad

How to Apply

Interested candidates are required to send an application on plain paper in duplicate along with a recent passport size photograph attached to each copy and a self-addressed envelope, affixed with a Rs 5 postage stamp. The applications should be sent at the address of the appropriate zone in which the candidate wishes to appear for the written test. The envelope should be superscribed as NBHM PhD Scholarship.
