Osmania University Semester Exam Cancelled

Hyderabad: Osmania University (OU) authorities have decided to cancel all the semester examinations, except for the engineering, pharmacy and hotel management courses. The decision was taken due to a violent protest by students in the University (OU) campus in Hyderabad on Wednesday i.e. January 20, 2010.
 
T Tirupathi Rao, Vice-Chancellor of OU told reporters that in view of the volatile situation, all semester exams except of the engineering, pharmacy and hotel management courses are cancelled. He added that even though exams have been cancelled, classes for the next semester of various courses would commence from January 22, 2010 as per the scheduled date.
 
As per sources, OU semester examinations, scheduled to begin from January 19, 2010 were cancelled due the death of K Venugopal Reddy. He was an MCA student who allegedly committed suicide by setting himself ablaze at OU campus for the cause of Telangana.
