Thapar University, located in Patiala (Punjab), has invited applications from the eligible candidates, who desire to seek admission into first year undergraduate degree program of Engineering in the University. In order to seek admission, the candidate is required to pass 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board, with not less than 60% marks in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the following subjects-Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Computer Science taken together. Relaxation of 5% is there for the candidates, who belong to SC/ST category.
Apart from the educational qualifications, the candidate has to fulfill the maximum age requirement, which is 25 years (for general category candidates) and 30 years (in case of SC/ST candidates) as on 1st October, 2010. Thapar University is among the oldest technical institutions of India. It also gained the status of Deemed University by University Grants Commission (UGC), in 1985. Numerous courses in the field of engineering are offered by the institute, at different degree levels. For admission into B.E course, candidates with valid AIEEE scores are eligible to apply, provided they have applied separately for admission into the University.

The form can also be derived by post from Thapar University by sending a Demand Draft along with a request letter.
