New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination (I), 2011, on February 13, 2011. The exam will be conducted for admission into the Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy and Air Force Academy for the courses commencing in January 2012. It is also used for taking admission into Officers Training Academy, Chennai for the courses (men and women) commencing in April, 2012.
Candidates can apply online by visiting the UPSC's official website. Candidates desirous to apply offline must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the Commission for its examinations. The form can be purchased from the designated head post offices or post offices (specified in Appendix-III of the notice), throughout the country.
The Last date of filling online application form is October 25, 2010 till 11.59 pm, and the last date for submitting the offline application form is October 25, 2010. The application should be send through post, speed post, courier or by hand. Last date for submitting the offline application forms for candidates residing abroad or in certain remote areas specified in the notice is November 1, 2010. Such candidates must send their application forms only by post or speed post.
