Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), New Delhi, has invited applications for the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) (Paper- Pencil Mode), which is scheduled to be held in December 2011.
Note: Common Proficiency Test (CPT) is open only to those students who are already registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for the said course on or before October 5, 2011 and fulfill the requisite eligibility conditions.
Date of exam
CPT (Paper-Pencil Mode) December 2011 will be held on December 18, 2011 (Sunday) as per the below given schedule:
First Session (i.e. Morning Session)
10.30 am to 12.30 pm (IST)
Section-A Fundamentals of Accounting
Section-B Mercantile Laws
Second Session (i.e. Afternoon Session)
2.00 pm to 4.00 pm
Section- C General Economics
Section- D Quantitative Aptitude
Test centers

How to apply
Interested candidates may obtain the applications for admission to Common Proficiency Test (to be made in the relevant prescribed form as contained in the Information Brochure) from the Additional Secretary (Examinations), The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, ICAI Bhawan, Indraprastha Marg, New Delhi – 110 002 on payment of Rs 1000 (Rs 500 towards examination fee and Rs 500 towards cost of application form and Information brochure) per application form. The Information brochure containing Common Proficiency Test application form will be available in the Regional and Branch Offices of the Institute and can be obtained there from on cash payment on or from 7th October, 2011. One can also fill the examination application form online at http://icaiexam.icai.org from October 7, 2011 (1000 hrs) to October 28, 2011 (1730 hrs) and remit the fee online by using either VISA or MASTER Credit/ Debit Cardshall not be charged Rs 500 (i.e. cost of application form fee) in order to popularize filling-in of application form online. The duly filled and completed CPT application forms may be sent to the Additional Secretary (Examinations) at New Delhi latest by the last date mentioned. However, applications will be also be received by hand delivery at the offices of Institute at New Delhi and at the Decentralized Offices of the Institute at Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Kanpur, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Pune upto the last date mentioned below. For more information regarding eligibility criteria, fee (exam and application for foreign cities) and application procedures candidates are requested to visit the institute’s aforementioned official website.
Note: It may be noted that there is no provision for acceptance of application forms after October 28, 2011 with late fee.
