Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University (KKHSOU) Dispur, is one of the prime open universities of the state of Assam. The University was established by Assam Legislative Assembly with the passing of Act (XXXVII of 2005) on September 7, 2005. It was founded with an objective to encourage Open University and distance education in the state.
