National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (NIFFT) in Ranchi, Jharkhand has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission intoPDF/PhD/M Tech/ADC Programme & their following disciplines, offered in the academic session 2011.
Programmes
Post Doctoral Fellow (PDF) & Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
- Major research areas include foundry, forge, manufacturing engineering, materials science, metallurgical engineering, environmental science and engineering, computational materials engineering and pure and applied sciences. These candidates are required to assist in teaching and upkeep of the laboratories.
Master of Technology (M Tech)
- Foundry-Forge Technology (FFT)
- Manufacturing Engineering (ME)
- Materials Science and Engineering (MSE)
- Environmental Engineering (EE)
Advanced Diploma Course (ADC)
- Foundry Technology
- Forge Technology
Date of Exam
Written test for ADC will be held of July 10, 2011 (Sunday, 11.00 am to 2.00 pm)
Note: Admission to PDF will be made on the basis of Interview whereas, admission to PhD & M Tech, will be based on candidate’s GATE Score/Screening test and performance in the interview (dates will be announced later in the Institute website)
Test Centers
Written test for ADC will be held at NIFFT, Ranchi.

How to Apply
Interested candidate may follow the following guidelines to apply for their respective courses:
Post Doctoral Fellow (PDF) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD): Candidatesmay apply on plain paper with detailed CV including academic achievements, work experience, etc. and send it to the Chairman, Academic Affairs, NIFFT, Hatia, Ranchi - 834 003. There is no application fee for applying for the same.
Master of Technology (M. Tech.) and Advanced Diploma Courses (ADC): Candidatesmay obtain the application forms and information brochure by sending requisite application fee. The Application fee for M Tech is Rs 350 for General/OBC and Rs 100.00 for SC/ST, whereas for ADC its Rs 300 for General/OBC and Rs 80 for SC/ST. The fee is to be paid in the form of DD drawn in which should be from any Nationalized Bank in favor of National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology payable at Ranchi. The DD should be sent along with a self addressed, stamped (Rs 25) envelope of 28×16 cm size, to the Chairman, Academic Affairs. However, the application form and information brochure can also be downloaded using the links below or obtained in person, from academic section, by producing DD towards application fee.

The filled in applications with all supporting documents (list given on the website) may be sent to Chairman, Academic Affairs, NIFFT, Hatia, Ranchi - 834 003 latest by . The application forms downloaded from the website must be sent with requisite application fee in the form of DD.
