Indian Air Force, New Delhi, has invited applications from eligible Indian candidates to register for Air Force Common Admission Test 2012, also known as AFCAT. AFCAT is being conducted in order to select candidates for admission into the following courses commencing from July 2013 for grant of Short Service Commission in Flying Brach and Permanent / Short Service Commission in Technical and Ground Duty Branches.

How to Apply
Interested candidates can apply by any of the following modes:
Online: All those candidates who want to apply and are eligible for the same should click on Apply Online on the career website of IAF: http://careerairforce.nic.in/, follow the instructions and note down the Registration Number for future reference. While filling the online application, it is advisable to keep the relevant documents readily available, as details are to be filled as per matriculation & other educational certificates. The last date of filling the online application is July 6, 2012.
Offline: All those candidates who want to apply through offline mode are required to complete applications as per the format given in the advertisement in the link: http://careerairforce.nic.in/writereaddata/linkimages/Employment_News_%20Women-4438231857.pdf or http://careerairforce.nic.in/writereaddata/linkimages/Employment_News_%20Men-7888939271.pdf. The duly filled in and completed application (in all aspect) should be sent to AFCAT Cell, Post Bag No. 5, R K Puram (Main) PO, New Delhi - 110066, latest by the last date(s) mentioned below, by ordinary post only. Applications should be sent in an envelope super scribed with APPLICATION FOR AIR FORCE COMMON ADMISSION TEST: 26 AUGUST 2012. All candidates applying offline are to mandatorily provide their valid E-mail ID. Applications received without the E-mail ID will be rejected.

- Allotment of AFCAT centres is automated. Online applications are beneficial to the candidates due to the ease of data capture and better chances of allotment of preferred AFCAT centre. On no account is a candidate allowed to apply in both Online and Offline formats.
