KEA Announces Common Entrance Test (CET) 2012

Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), Bangalore, Karnataka, has invited applications from eligible candidates for Common Entrance Test 2012, also known as CET. CET is being conducted by KEA in order to select candidates for admission into the first year Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga / Engineering / Technology / Architecture courses for the seats to be notified by the Government in the Professional Educational Institutions in the state of Karnataka for the academic year 2012-13.
 
However, for admission to Architecture course the candidates must appear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture and they must compulsorily obtain CET-2012 brochure and submit the filled application form. Date of Exam
Common Entrance Test- 2012 Schedule is as follows:
  • May 3, 2012- Biology (10.30 am to 11.50 am) & Mathematics (2.30 pm to 3.50 pm)
  • May 4, 2012- Physics (10.30 am to 11.50 pm) & Chemistry (2.30 pm to 3.50 pm)
  • Kannada Language Test- May 5, 2012 - Both for Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates (10.30 am to 11.30 am)

How to Apply
Interested candidates are informed that brochure cum application form will be supplied through the schools / colleges located within the State of Karnataka where the students are studying 2nd PUC or 12th standard examination upon submission of DD for Rs 650 to the Principals in advance, drawn in favour of The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore, payable at Bangalore and Rs 500 for students belonging to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and category-1. Repeaters and ex-students who have passed the qualifying examination within the State of Karnataka before 2012 should also submit the DD for the above said amount to the respective schools / colleges. The last date for submission of DD to the Principal of Schools and Colleges within Karnataka will be March 9, 2012.
 
Karnataka candidates residing outside Karnataka (Horandu, Gadinadu and other Karnataka candidates i.e. who fulfills the eligibility conditions) who are studying or who have studied 12th standard or equivalent examination outside the state of Karnataka, within the territory of India, can procure the brochure cum application form by Speed Post, by sending a self-addressed cloth-lined envelope of size 25 cm X 30 cm along with a DD of Rs 750 drawn in favour of The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore, payable at Bangalore and a Karnataka candidate residing outside India can get the brochure cum application form by sending a DD for Rs 5000. The contents on the self-addressed envelope should be in English or Kannada language only.
 
The cover in which the DD and self-addressed envelope will be sent should be boldly super scribed with the words REQUEST FOR CET-2012 BROCHURE and should be sent to the office address of Executive Director by Speed Post only. The KEA will not take responsibility for the envelopes sent through courier or given in person or through any other private arrangement and also for incomplete and insufficient address on the envelope. The last date for submission of DDs by Speed Post will be March 15, 2012. However, the brochure will be supplied to the schools and colleges in Karnataka and also to the students residing outside the State of Karnataka latest by March 22, 2012.
