Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) was initially founded in 1974 to handle all academic matters of school education. Later in the year 1996, Pre-University courses were also taken over by the Board after discontinuing from the University (NEHU). Presently, the Board manages all financial and academic matters related to framing of the syllabus for all classes, including SSLC and HSSLC.
