National Institute of Mentally Handicapped (Regional Centre) Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into the following Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) approved one year degree and diploma programmes. The programmes will be offered by the institute in the upcoming session commencing from July2012.
Programmes Offered:
- B Ed Special Education (Mental Retardation)
- Diploma in Early Childhood Special Education (DECSE) (Mental Retardation)
- Diploma in Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) (Mental Retardation)
Note: Selection in B Ed programme will be made on the basis of entrance test merit, followed by counseling, to be conducted by the Institute. However, for diploma programmes, candidates will be short-listed on the basis of their academic qualification and criteria set by the Institute and called for interview. Final selection in diploma programmes will be made on the basis of candidates’ performance in the interview.
Date of Exam
Entrance test for B Ed programme is scheduled to be held on July 15, 2012 (from 9.30 am to 11.30 am)
Counseling of selected candidates will be conducted on July 16, 2012 (9.30 am onwards)
Interview of selected candidates for diploma programmes will be conducted on July 17, 2012

Interested candidates obtain the application form from National Institute For The Mentally Handicapped Regional Centre, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra - 400 614, by paying an application fee of Rs 450 (Rs 350 for SC / ST candidates) for B Ed and Rs 150 for DVR / DECSE (Mental Retardation) programme. The duly filled-in hard copy of downloaded application form complete in all respect along with the Demand Draft (DD) of requisite amount drawn in favor of Officer Incharge, NIMH, RC Navi Mumbai should be submitted to National Institute For The Mentally Handicapped Regional Centre, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra - 400 614.
