Kanpur: Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University (CSJMU), Uttar Pradesh, has announced to offer five year integrated LLB (Bachelor of Law) course on the University campus. The integrated law course will be offered on semester basis from the upcoming academic session 2013-14. The Executive Council of the University has approved the course during an Academic Council meeting, held recently.
As per sources, the important meeting held in the University premises was headed by Vice Chancellor, Ashok Kumar. Announcing the decision during a press meet, VC said that though the course has been announced, but permission for the said course will be sought from Chancellor, Governor of the state. Once the permission is granted, recognition for the course will be taken from the Bar Council of India, added Kumar.
As far as eligibility is concerned, students after completing their class XII can apply for admission to the LLB course. However, they will have to appear for an entrance exam also. The fees of LLB course is yet to be decided by the University administration. During the meeting, it was also decided that students who are willing to pursue PhD course will be first required to enroll for a six months semester course. The six months will be a training period for those interested in PhD.
