Gauhati University System Design Using Microcontroller Workshop Scheduled From 24 June

The Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET) 2013 The Gauhati University will organize a four-day workshop namely the Second Summer School on System Design Using Microcontroller scheduled to be held from 24 to 28 June, 2013. The last date of application will close on June 20, 2013. The workshop mainly targets those students who have appeared the fourth semester of TDC with major in Physics, Electronics and Computer Science.

Interested candidates are requested to apply along with relevant document in the prescribed format available in the University’s official website: http://www.gauhati.ac.in/ and should submit to the Coordinator of the course on or before the last date mentioned. The Registration Fee is Rs 2000 for Selected Candidates and Rs 5000 for Sponsored Candidates

The University is organizing the workshop considering the importance of the knowledge on Microprocessor and Microcontroller and their role in Embedded System which have become necessary for the students of Instrumentation, Physics, Electronics, and Computer Science. These topics have been introduced in the undergraduate syllabus of Physics, Electronics, and Computer Science. Therefore, such a school will motivate the students in this field. Moreover, they can also improve the level of their third year project by incorporating the Microcontroller.

In addition, at present there is a very high demand of embedded system designer. If the students at their undergraduate level become familiar with these topics there will be possibilities to emerge better embedded system designer from the group.

The main Objectives of the workshop is listed below
1. Familiarize with working of microprocessor and microcontroller
2. Writing code for microcontroller in C and programming a microcontroller
3. Exposure to the concept of Embedded System
4. Data Acquisition System
