Gujarat Board HSC (Science) Results 2013 Coming up on May 13

On Monday i.e. on May 13, 2013 Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) will announce the results of HSC (Science) examination 2013. Approximately 1.10 lakh students had appeared for the examination, which was taken in four semesters.

As per sources, in June 2011, the semester system was introduced from class XI. Students had appeared for two semester exams in class XI and two exams in class XII. On Monday i.e. May 13, 2013, the combined result of all the four semesters will be declared. The passing marks required will be 132 out of 400 in each subject. Therefore, it is expected that students will score well as they are not required to score passing marks in each semester.

According to the Board officials the percentile rank will be declared. However, those students who fail to score the passing 132 marks will not be marked failed rather will be marked as needs improvement. As the result day draws closer, there prevails confusion among students and their parents about over marks on which entrance test will be used to give admission in medical and paramedical courses.

Furthermore, sources also informed that the admission committee has already declared that admission in engineering courses will be based on the merit list prepared on the basis of 50 % weight age on Joint Engineering Entrance Exam (JEE) score and 50 % scored in the board exams. Since the Supreme Court's final verdict on NEET is expected on June 2, the result of GUJCET exam will be withheld.

According to a statement issued by a board official, earlier, medical admissions were done on the basis of 60 % marks scored in board exams and 40 % weight age on GUJCET score. He added that if NEET is applicable, medical admissions will be given on that score alone.
