IGNOU Announces Admissions to Various Research Programmes

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced admissions for various research programmes such as M. Phil/PhD for January 2014 cycle.

A candidate seeking registration in the research programmes (M.Phil/PhD) for January 2014 cycle must hold a master's degree in the relevant discipline with minimum 55 percent marks. The eligibility criterion for reserved category candidates is 50 percent.

An Entrance Examination (ENTEX-01) will be conducted on all-India basis at examination centers located in various regions and candidates qualifying in the Entrance Examination will have to appear in an Interview at IGNOU Headquarters.

Candidates holding masters of philosophy (M. Phil), having cleared the University Grants Commission's National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) or state level eligibility test (SLET) or having relevant professional work experience may be exempted from the entrance examination.

All applicants will attach a research proposal prepared as per guidelines and instructions in application form without which the application may be rejected. This condition is applicable even for candidates taking ENTEX-01.

The last date of receipt of duly filled-in application form is 8th August 2013, and the date of ENTEX-01 is 8th September 2013. The application form can be downloaded from the IGNOU website and the application form should be submitted along with a demand draft of Rs 1000/- in favour of “IGNOU”, payable at New Delhi.

Duly filled-in application form should be sent at the following address so as to reach before 8th August 2013.
