IGNOU, New Delhi, has invites applications for admissions into Master of Computer Application (MCA) course, to be offered in academic year 2013. The duration of the programme is 3 years (For IGNOU BCAs it is 2 years). However, students will be allotted a maximum of six years duration to complete it. The last date of receipt of application forms is June 15, 2013.

As per a press release issued by IGNOU, this master's degree programme has been designed with a semester approach in mind. The first year of the courses are aimed at skills development in computers using various technologies, the second year emphasis on core courses providing a conceptual framework and the third year provides the specialization and the project work. After the successful completion of first year courses, the student will receive the PGDCA (Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications) certificate.
The IGNOU’s MCA programme has been divided into two semesters per year (January-June and July- December). As a result, there will be two examinations every year - one scheduled to be held in the month of June for the January to June semester courses and the other in December for the July to December semester courses. Moreover, the students have an advantage of appearing for any of the examinations conducted by the University during the year subject to completing the minimum time frame and other formalities prescribed for the programme.
