New Delhi: Jamia Millia Islamia’s (JMI) Centre for Mangement Studies invites applications for admission into its two-year full-time MBA, MBA (Executive) and MIB programme, offered in the ensuing session 2013. The MBA (executive) programme is designed for working executives and managers from the industry.
Interested candidates can obtain the application forms from the university campus against a cash payment of Rs 500. Application form can also be downloaded online from the University’s website: jmi.ac.in. Admission to all programmes will be through entrance tests, followed by a group discussion stage and interview. For MBA (executive), admission is based on an entrance test and interview. In addition, the conducts a PhD programme in management. These programmes are run under the mentorship of Abad Ahmad, chair professor at the centre.
Professor UM Amin, director, Centre for Management Studies, JMI has said that the MBA programme offers specializations in various business functional areas such as marketing, finance and HR. The syllabus is based on recent UGC model for MBA. He added that the programme is unique as it seeks to emphasis on global business standpoint. Moreover, the course fee is approximately Rs. 21,000 per annum for the full-time MBA programme, which is great value-for-money.
Also in the opinion of the director, the popularity of the programme is mainly due to “student-friendly fee” and the fact that it is offered by a Central university. The Centre in its 11th year boasts of highly qualified and experienced faculty trained in case based teaching. He also informed that the University has an access to 5000 cases from the Richard Ivy Business School, Canada, as per an agreement signed with them. Besides, the Centre also have an international exchange programme with the University of Applied Sciences, Erfurt, Germany, for students.
