The date for National Entrance Screening Test 2013, also known as NEST, has been announced. NEST is a compulsory test for aspirants seeking admission to National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, and University of Mumbai - Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CBS), Mumbai. Both NISER and UM-DAE CBS were started by the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, in 2007. The admission is being offered in the 5-year integrated M Sc (Master of Science) programme in the following subjects, to be offered in the ensuing academic session 2013-14 at both the institutes.

How to Apply
Interested candidates may apply online by registering themselves on the official website of NEST: http://www.nestexam.in/. Candidates have to pay an application fee of Rs 700 (Rs 350 for SC/ST/PD and female candidates) either through DD or Electronic Payment. The DD should be drawn in favor of Chief Coordinator, NEST-2013 and payable at Bhubaneswar. In case the candidates are making the payment through Electronic Payment mode, the details are as follows:

One will get a conformation mail after the successful registration and henceforth, one can fill up the application form online. In addition, candidates may also obtain the same through post by sending requisition letter to the Chief Coordinator NEST-2013 for paper-copy of the application form to “The Chief Coordinator, NEST-2013, NISER, Institute of Physics Campus, Sachivalaya Marg, P.O. Sainik School, Bhubaneswar – 751005, Odisha”. The candidate should fill up the form, attach photo, sign and return the completed application form along with the application fees (in the form of DD) to the Chief Coordinator by post, preferably speed post. The last date for requesting paper application form is February 20, 2013.
The duly filled-in paper copy of the application form or printout of the online submitted application, along with all requisite documents, should be sent to the Chief Coordinator, NEST-2013, NISER, Institute of Physics Campus, Sachivalaya Marg, P.O. Sainik School, Bhubaneswar – 751005, Odisha, latest by March 8, 2013. Those paying the application fee through Demand Draft should attach a DD with the application. One must write his/her full name and application number on the reverse side of the DD.
