The results of National Eligibility Entrance Test- Post Graduate (NEET-PG) were declared by the National Board of Examination (NBE) on Thursday. The NEET-PG was conducted in December. Soon, after the results were out the site crashed and remained inaccessible for hours causing inconvenience for students.
As per sources, Shivam Jani, an MBBS graduate from BJ Medical College, was one of those lucky students who could check the results online before the site crashed. Besides, the site remained inaccessible for hours after the news of the results spread around 5.00 pm. Shivam Jani has secured the 42nd ranked in the state of Gujarat and 682 in the country.
In addition, another candidate named Shakeel Ahmad, who is a doctor, was also not able to access the much-awaited NEET PG results, after being declared. Sources have mentioned that the NEET-PG was withheld for over four months as the test was challenged in the Supreme Court.
In the meantime, the Gujarat University is yet to decide on the matter whether the admissions to 450 post graduate seats in Gujarat would be done on the basis of only NEET scores or the marks scored in MBBS. Sources have informed that on Friday i.e. on May 17, 2013 a meeting will be conducted in order to take a final decision. However, students met the senior officials in Gujarat University and had asked them to consider only NEET scores for admissions.
