SIU Announces SET 2013

Symbiosis International University (SIU), Pune, Maharashtra, has invited applications from eligible candidates to register for Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) 2013. The test is being conducted in order to select eligible candidates for admission into various undergraduate degree programmes (in Law, Design, Management, Computer Studies, Engineering, Media, Economics, Medical Technology, Nursing and Liberal Arts) in the following colleges of the University.
 
Colleges:
  • Symbiosis Law School.[SLS] - Pune
  • Symbiosis Law School.[SLS] – Noida
  • Symbiosis Institute of Computers Studies and Research [SICSR]
  • Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies [SCMS-UG] – Pune
  • Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication [SIMC-UG]
  • Symbiosis School of Economics [SSE]
  • Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies [SCMS]-Noida
  • Symbiosis Institute of Design [SID]
Note: However, SET is not mandatory for the Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT), Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS), Symbiosis College of Nursing (SCON) and Symbiosis School of Liberal Arts (SSLA). Therefore, candidates who want to take admission in these institutes should visit their websites for further details.
 
Date of Exam
SET 2013 will be conducted on May 4, 2013 in two sessions (Morning and Afternoon) as per the following schedule:
  • Law, Engineering and Health Sciences- Morning Session (9.30 am to 12.00 noon)
  • General and Design - Afternoon Session - 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm
Test Centers
The test will be conducted in the following cities: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolhapur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nashik, Noida, Pune.
 
Note: Symbiosis Test Secretariat reserves the right to change or allot a city other than the one requested by the candidate in the event of the requested city is not being available for any reason.

How to Apply
Interested candidates are required to register for one paper from the morning session viz. Law or Engineering or Health Sciences and one paper from the afternoon session viz. General or Design by logging into the website: http://www.set-test.org/ and generate a unique SET ID (after carefully following the instructions mentioned). The non-refundable fee towards test fee and the prospectus (which will be couriered by SIU admission cell to the candidate's registered address) which can be paid in any of the following ways:
 
Cash: Payment can be made in cash using the payment advice form (which is in three parts). This payment advice can be remitted in cash (Rs 1500) at any designated Axis Bank branch in India. The list of designated branches is given in the website. After making the payment, the bank will return two parts of the 'Payment Advice' form to the candidate. The duly acknowledge and stamped payment slip should be sent to the following address, latest by the last date (April 28, 2013).

Through DD: The fee (Rs 1500) can be paid in the form of crossed DD drawn from any nationalized bank in favour of Symbiosis Test Secretariat payable at Pune. Candidate must sign the single copy of the Payment Advice for DD and sent it along with DD to the Symbiosis Test Secretariat at, Symbiosis Test Secretariat, Symbiosis International University, Gram: Lavale, Tal: Mulshi, Dist: Pune – 412115.
 
Online Payment through Credit Card: Payment can be made directly through either Master or Visa card online by following the instructions given in the SET website: http://www.set-test.org/
 
Online payment through Net Banking: Candidates can transfer SET test fee to Symbiosis Test Secretariat account using Net Banking option, further details are given in the aforementioned website.
 
The last date of registering online for the test is April 14, 2013. For any further details regarding admission, eligibility criteria and application procedure, candidates are requested to visit the abovementioned website.
