University of Gour Banga, West Bengal, is one of the well-known universities of the state. It was founded by the West Bengal Legislative Assembly vide West Bengal Act XXVI of 2007. The University of Gour Banga is approved by the UGC under Section 2(F) of the UGC Act, 1956 and is fully funded by the Govt. of West Bengal.
