UPSC to conduct IES/ISS Exam 2013 in November

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), New Delhi, will conduct a combined competitive exam (Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service) from November 9th, 2013 for recruitment to grade IV services.

Candidates who want to apply must visit the official website http://upsconline.nic.in/ and click on the link ONLINE APPLICATION FOR VARIOUS EXAMINATIONS OF UPSC and should fill the online application form. The last date for filling the application forms is 16th September, 2013.

Issue of notification: August 17th, 2013
Last date for application: September 16th, 2013
Date of exam: 9th November, 2013

Eligibility

Candidates must be minimum 21 years of age and below 30 years as on August 1st, 2013. The upper age limit can be relaxed in case of scheduled tribes, scheduled castes, other backwards classes and reserved categories.

Educational Qualification

•        A candidate applying for Indian Economic Service (IES) must be a post graduate in Economics, applied economics, business economics or econometrics from a recognized university
 
•        A candidate applying for Indian Statistical Service (ISS) must be a post graduate in statistics, applied statistics or mathematical statistics from a recognized university.

The examination will be held at Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Allahabad, Jammu, Bangalore, Kolkata, Bhopal, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Chennai, Patna, Cuttack, Shillong, Delhi, Shimla, Dispur, Hyderabad and Thiruvananthapuram. Allotment of centres will be based on the first-apply-first-allot basis, and once the capacity of a particular centre is fulfilled, the same will be frozen. Hence, the applicants should apply early to get a centre of their choice. Blind candidates will take up the exam at Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Dispur and Mumbai.
